The Sears and Kmart Learning and Development Team was recently named the recipient of two Group Silver Awards for Excellence in Leadership Development. The team won in the “Best Advance in Leadership Development Strategy” and “Best Use of Blended Learning” categories. This is the second year SHC has won Silver awards for the Leadership Development Programs by one of the most prestigious awards programs in the Learning Talent Industry.
The leadership programs include Growth-Entry Level Manager (GEM) Program, Assistant Store Manager Onboarding Program, ASM Academies, Store Manager in Training Program, Store Manager Academies, Advanced Leadership Development Academies, SHCs High Potential Programs and the Leadership Development/Talent Management Portal. All of the learning and development programs include a blend of the following:
- Training in store environment
- Practical activities
- Virtual e-learnings
- Segno-based learning plans
- Webinars
- Instructor led in-person academies
- Retail Services partnerships
The award entries were evaluated by a panel of veteran, independent senior industry experts, Brandon Hall Group analysts and executives based upon the following criteria: learning needs, design of the program, functionality, innovation and overall measureable benefits.
“It is an honor and a privilege to be recognized for our work in collaborating and facilitating the developmental programs for our leaders at all levels,” said Benjamin LeRoy, a master facilitator on the Learning and Development team. “A special thank you to all of SHC partners who contributed to our program success this year! Each and every Support Center partner is an engaged member of the village, raising our company’s leaders from coast to coast,” said Torey Bennett, master facilitator.
Earlier this year, Sears Holdings took Gold in the 2017 Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards in the Best Use of Games and Simulations for Learning Category.
